DECA to sponsor Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat

DECA will be holding its annual Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat canned food drive on Oct. 7. Volunteers will be going door to door collecting non-perishable food items from 6-9 p.m.

DECA advisor, Shaina Prough said if one does not someone ringing their doorbell or will not be home but wishes to be a part of this, they should leave the cans outside their door.

According to Prough, any house that is missed or those living in rural areas may take food items to the Community Assistance Center located at 12th and Oak until noon on Oct. 31.

The volunteers will be wearing badges with “Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat” clearly printed on them to assure residents that items collected will be going to the Community Assistance Center. Prough said the youth and adult volunteers from Hays give of their time to make this food drive a success.
