September marks the beginning of annual homecoming festivities, once again. Seniors this year have voted and tallied the results to come up with this year’s homecoming court. Alex Delton, Casey Dinkel, Adam Klaus, Andrew McGinnis, and Logan Renz are the competitors for king. While on the other side, the new queen-to-be can be Mariah Haley, Hannah Hearld, Kristyn Hodny, Emily McPherson, or Summer Smith.

“Being nominated for homecoming is a really big honor! It has really humbled me and shown that I can be a big influence on the people around me.” Renz said.

Others such as Klaus, McPherson, Hodny, and Haley agree. Along with being humbled, many are looking forward to the activities in store for them.

“I have to admit I’m excited for candidate games,” Hodny said.

The candidate games are where students go to the gym during seminar and watch their elected court compete in organized games against each other. Per usual, the candidate games will take place on the Monday of homecoming week. Yet, some candidates have other exciting experiences in mind.

“The thing I look forward most to is having fun with the best candidate partner ever, Andrew McGinnis, and getting dressed up and making memories,” McPherson said.

The parade and crowning of royalty will be done Friday, Oct. 3, followed by the formal dance the night after.
