Musical auditions announced
The new school year brings back old opportunities such as the annual Musical. This year the school will be putting on a production of “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
The Musical follows Joseph in his biblical saga full of trials and tribulations, but in a bit different way than people are used to the story being told. Through a plethora of different music genres, audiences will engage in the old Canaan days as Joseph is brought to life before their eyes.
Not to mention, the directors have assured the public that it will live up to its predecessors.
“(Musical) is a good experience for everyone,” vocal director Johnny Matlock said. “It will help you grow in performance, responsibility and communication.”
An informative meeting on auditions will take place during seminar in the choir room on Aug 28.
“Everyone is required to audition, and we try to make everyone comfortable,” Matlock said. “We don’t cut people from the Musical.”
Students aren’t required to sing solo; they can audition in a group as well.
Actual auditions for “Joseph” will take place on Sept. 8, and Sept. 9.
Callbacks will be posted on Sep. 11 and followed through with that night. Cast list will be posted outside choir room the day after callbacks.
The first rehearsal will be the following Monday.
“Monday will be music auditions, followed by dance auditions,” Matlock said. “Tuesday will be monologues followed by more dance auditions. Everyone must do both.”
