Forensics competes at Salina Sacred Heart tournament
Forensics competition continued as competitors traveled to Salina Sacred Heart to compete.
The team came away with a fifth-place medal in impromptu speaking and a sixth-place medal in informative speaking.
“I did much better on my informative than at previous meets,” freshman Griffin Lowry said. “I’m glad I broke finals and got sixth.”
Junior Ben Rajewski, who received fifth in impromptu speaking, has traveled to approximately four tournaments this season.
“I did OK,” Rajewski said. “I did better in impromptu than usual.”
Freshman Hannah Norris has competed in three tournaments so far this season. Norris competed in prose with the selection “A Comparison” by Sylvia Plath.
“Without seeing ballots, I think I did pretty well,” Norris said. “I think I did better than previous meets.”
For sophomore Emily Prine, this was her third tournament as well.
“I competed in prose with “Alexander and the No-Good, Horrible, Very Bad Day,” Prine said. “I felt like I did very well.”
Other competitors, like sophomore Isabella Lee, had a personal connection with their piece. Lee competed in poetry.
“My poem’s about friendship and I’m having friendship problems right now, so it made me kind of sad,” Lee said.
