ACT Test Prep Class
With the ACT coming up quickly on April 12th, students of Hays High are scurrying to study for this major test that allow them to apply for more scholarships and improve their chances of admission in certain colleges. By March 7th, students can sign up for the ACT Test Prep class that will take place on March 25th from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. in Room 112B.
“We’ve decided to bring in Carolyn Devane, the woman who teaches this class, to help students prep for the ACT,” Hays High counselor Suellyn Stenger said. “It’s going to give the students test taking strageties and she will help them work through some practice questions in all four of the subjects: English, Math, Reading, and Science.”
The cost per student is $35.
“We’re really targeting the juniors, who for most of them, it’s their first time taking the ACT,” Stenger said. “This class needs a minimum of 25 students and we currently have 26 students signed up.”
Stenger believes this class will be very helpful to many students who are planning to take the ACT in the future.
“I’m excited that we can provide this opportunity at Hays High,” Stenger said. “I’m hoping it’s something that we can grow on in the future. Prepping for the ACT is so important. A better ACT score equals a better scholarship.”
