On Friday, April 9, the Hays High School girls swim team traveled to Topeka High School to compete in a swim meet.

50-yard Freestyle: first place – Izabel Schmidt, second place – Jaylen Hughes, 27th place – Pypere Hollis
100-yard Backstroke: fourth place – Jaylen Hughes, 19th place – Janessa Miller, 22nd place – Loren Tervort
100-yard Breaststroke: eighth place – Carissa Sun, 13th place Jayleigh Weilert, 15th place – Savannah Schmitz
100-yard Butterfly: fifth place – Lucy Tippy, ninth place – Anne Wintch
100-yard Freestyle: first place – Izabel Schmidt, sixth place – Breckyn Wahlmeier, 25th place – Janessa Miller
200-yard IM: 10th place – Lucy Tippy, 11th place – Cailin DeBey
200-yard Freestyle Relay: first place – Izabel Schmidt, Lucy Tippy, Breckyn Wahlmeier and Jaylen Hughes; 12th place – Carissa Sun, Loren Tervort, Savannah Schmitz and Katelyn Stieben
200-yard Medley Relay: seventh place – Cailin DeBey, Kesa Tsereteli, Katelyn Stieben and Jayleigh Weilert, 12th place – Janessa Miller, Carissa Sun, Anne Wintch and Pypere Hollis
200-yard Freestyle: fourth place – Breckyn Wahlmeier, 22nd place – Loren Tervort
400-yard Freestyle Relay: second place – Izabel Schmidt, Lucy Tippy, Breckyn Wahlmeier and Jaylen Hughes; 11th place: Cailin DeBey, Anne Wintch, Kesa Tsereteli and Jayleigh Weilert
500-yard Freestyle: seventh place — Cailin DeBey, ninth place — Jayleigh Weilert, 16th place – Kesa Tsereteli
The team placed fourth with 305 overall points.
“I am really proud of what our team accomplished this meet,” senior Breckyn Wahlmeier said. “I am excited with how my final year is going, and I can’t wait to continue.”
