HHS boys golf takes fifth in Newton

Senior Skylar Zimmerman hits out of the bunker on Hole nine at the Smoky Hill Country Club at the Hays tournament on April 19.

The Hays High School boys golf team had a varsity meet at Newton on April 15. They played at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course, where par is 72. The team took fifth with a score of 334.

Senior Jason Krannawitter and sophomore Braden Hoskins tied with a score of 79 for ninth, senior Weston Hoskins took 27th with an 85, junior Ashton Hernandez shot a 91 for 39th and senior Skylar Zimmerman took 64th with a score of 104.

The next varsity meet is the Hays Bob Blazer Invitational at Smoky Hill Country Club on April 19.
