The boys basketball team had their first game of the season on Thursday, Dec. 2 against cross-town rival Thomas More Prep-Marian.

The game was not close in the first half, as Hays High was up 37-16 at halftime, with senior Jace Linenberger leading the scoring with 14 points.

The game continued to be a blowout as Hays High won, 69-36, in convincing fashion. Linenberger led all scorers with 18 points.

The boys will play Olathe West at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3 for a chance to go on to the championship game.
