After getting a win against Dodge City that ended a losing streak and having to wait to return to action due to another postponement, the Hays High School boys basketball team will try to continue their success in Western Athletic Conference play, as they look for a season sweep against the Liberal Redskins on Feb. 14.
The Indians enter the game with a record of 8-7 and are fresh off of their third win in WAC play, in which they defeated Dodge City, 61-44, thanks to a huge third quarter. In that quarter, the Indians scored 24 points, and they had a big game offensively from senior Tiger Johnson and senior Johnny Cano.
Liberal, on the other hand, is looking to end their own losing streak, as they enter tonight’s game with a record of 3-14 and have lost the five games in their losing streak by an average margin of 30 points. The Redskins last win came against the Halstead Dragons on Jan. 23, and they will be in search of their first win in WAC play tonight.
The game is scheduled to tip off at approximately 7:30 p.m. after the conclusion of the girls’ game, which will start at 6 p.m. You can also tune into the game with Dustin Armbruster on 96.9 KFIX or watch the game at www.hayspost.com.
