Ending the cross country season for the Indians, they had two races, the regional meet and the state meet.
At the regional meet, which was on Oct. 26 at Great Bend, senior Taevian Maupin was the only state qualifier from Hays High School from either the boys or the girls teams. Maupin placed fourth in the regional race with a time of 16:38.73.
To end the cross country season for the Indians, Maupin traveled to Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence on Nov. 2, where he ran a 17:06.6 and finished in 40th place.
“I feel that, after six years of running, I really did impress myself with not only qualifying and competing at state, but by overall giving my true best this senior season,” Maupin said.
