On Friday, Feb. 16, the girls basketball varsity, junior varsity and freshman teams played Garden City at home.
All three of the Indian girls basketball teams improved their records in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), with the varsity winning 42-14, the JV winning 50-16 and the freshmen winning 51-17. The varsity girls are 10-5 currently after their win over Garden City.
“The girls are playing well right now and really playing as a team,” coach Len Melvin said. “All three levels have experienced a lot of success, and we have enjoyed working with them this year. This week we have Dodge City at home and Great Bend on the road. If we beat Dodge at home on Tuesday, we win the WAC outright, the first time since 2012! And, sub-state starts next week.”
