Cross country competes at regionals in Great Bend
On Saturday, Oct. 22, cross country competed in the 2A-5A regional competition in Great Bend, where varsity girls placed third overall with a total of 71 points, qualifying for state, and varsity boys placed seventh overall with a total of 139 points.
Finishing first for the lady Indians was junior Arely Maldonado. She placed seventh overall with a time of 20:14:00. Behind her was junior Brynn Kinderknecht, who placed 14th with a time of 21:15:00.
Junior Elijah McCullough was the first to finish for varsity boys. He placed ninth overall with a time of 17:26:00. Behind him was sophomore Taevian Maupin, who finished 21st with a time of 18:17:00.
The girls team, along with McCullough for the boys team, will run at the state cross country meet on Saturday, Oct. 29.
