Girls golf wins regional tournament

Last Monday, on Oct. 11, the girls golf team traveled to Salina for the 5A regional competition at Salina Municipal Golf Course. As a team, they tied for first, but because their fifth individual score was higher than Bishop Carroll, they were titled 5A regional champions with a score of 324.
Senior Katie Dinkel shot a 75 for fourth place, junior Abbie Norris placed fifth with a 78, junior Evyn Cox followed with an 82 for sixth place and sophomore Jaycee Oakley tied for 14th with an 89.
Winning regionals means that the girls golf team gets to attend the state golf tournament for the 17th year in a row. State will be held on Oct. 17-18 in Hesston.
