Hays High boys cross country competes at first meet
On Thursday, Sept. 1, the boys cross country team completed its first meet at Great Bend. The team placed fifth overall with a total of 158 points and 14 runners competing.
Junior Elijah McCullough was the first to finish for Hays with a time of 18:22:00 and 15th place. He was followed by sophomore Taevian Maupin with a time of 18:25:00 and 16th place.
“My favorite part of this meet was starting the race and realizing that I was in a really good position and knowing that I had a chance to get a medal,” McCullough said.
