Varsity baseball faces No. 1 team
On Friday, April 29, the boys varsity baseball team played against Blue Valley West in Kansas City, Kan., in the Butch Foster Memorial Baseball Tournament at Legends Field.
The Blue Valley West Jaguars barely won, taking the final run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Hays High scored three runs at the beginning, gaining an early and seemingly promising lead, only to be soon answered by three runs in the third inning.
Senior Dylan Dreiling allowed two runs on nine hits. Dreiling also had seven strikeouts and no walks.
Dreiling, junior Carson Spray and senior Garrett Wellbrock were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Indians will host their own tournament, the Western Plains Diamond Classic, this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, May 5-7.
