Hays High competed in the McCook track and field meet on March 31.

In the women’s high jump, freshman Caira Augustine placed first and sophomore Abygail Banks placed fifth in junior varsity. On varsity, freshman Katie Linenberger placed second and sophomore Lilian McGrath placed sixth. In junior varsity long jump, junior Phoenix Henry placed fourth. In women’s varsity long jump, sophomore Lilian McGrath placed first and Kacy Dinkel placed sixth. In the women’s junior varsity discus, Nia Kaiser placed fourth. In the varsity discus, Halle Lohmeyer placed fourth and Kaylee Hammerschmidt placed fifth. In junior varsity triple jump, freshman Caira Augustine placed first and Kenzie Berry placed second. On varsity, senior Landri Dotts placed fourth.

In the women’s varsity 4 x 800 relay, Hays placed third. In the junior varsity 400-meter dash, Taylor Sterling placed third. In the women’s 3200-meter run varsity, sophomore Brynn Kinderknecht placed fourth. In the women’s 100-meter hurdles junior varsity, Jaycee Antrim placed second. For varsity, Brooklyn Lewallen placed fourth and sophomore Emily Hernandez placed seventh. In the 100-meter dash, Kacy Dinkel placed third. In the 200-meter dash, sophomore Lilian McGrath placed second. In the 4 x 100-meter relay, Hays placed first.

In the men’s varsity high jump, senior Jordan Dale placed first. In varsity pole vault, sophomore Harley Zimmerman placed fifth. In the men’s junior varsity long jump, junior Keamonie Archie placed first. In the varsity long jump, junior Chason VanDerWege placed first and junior Kyreese Groen placed second. In the men’s junior varsity discus throw, Kelby Hammerschmidt placed second and junior Matt Berner placed third. In the varsity discus, Grayson Walburn placed first and freshman Jack Zeller placed second. In the junior varsity shot put, Iden Baalman placed first, Karson Russell placed second, and Brandon Yauch placed third. In varsity, Bryce Salmans placed second, freshman Jack Zeller placed fourth, and Grayson Walburn placed sixth. In the junior varsity triple jump, junior Keamonie Archie placed first, Kamani Jones placed third, and sophomore Daunte Younker placed fifth. For varsity, VanDerWege placed third and Kyreese Groen placed fifth.

In the men’s junior varsity 400-meter dash, freshman Wyatt Waddell placed third. In the men’s 3200-meter run junior varsity, Carter Muehleisen placed fourth. In the men’s 3200 varsity run, Elijah McCullough placed fourth and Matthew Dempsey placed seventh. For the junior varsity 110-meter hurdles, Carsen Avery placed first and Daunte Younker placed second. For varsity, junior JW Perry placed second and Christopher Isbell placed fourth. In the 4 x 100-meter relay, Hays placed third and fourth.
