Hays competes against Washburn Rural and Garden City
On Tuesday, April 5, Hays High competed against the Washburn Rural Blues in Topeka.
Hays High won the first game 14-4, while Washburn Rural led the second game 15-5 when the game was suspended in the second inning due to issues with the lights.
In the first game, senior Dylan Dreiling hit a grand slam that gave the Indians a 4-0 lead in the second inning. Senior Garrett Wellbrock finished two for three with two RBIs and three runs.
Since the second game was suspended, it will be completed at a later date, to be determined.
On Friday, April 8, Hays High faced a tough competitor, the Garden City Buffaloes at home. Hays High won the first game, 15-3, and lost the second game, 16-10.
The Indians will face Great Bend on Tuesday, April 12.
