Lady Indians add a win to their record following state ranking

After being ranked No. 10 in the 5A state rankings at the beginning of the week, the lady Indians hosted Abilene and won, 41-25.

The first quarter started with a 13-3 scoring run for the lady Indians, with the Cowgirls only scoring one point in the span of almost 10 minutes.

The end of the second quarter ended up 19-19, following an Abilene scoring run of 16-4.

Entering the second half, the Indians were able to continue to build the lead that they had begun to make within the first half.

The closest the score would be 28-23, but the Indians took control of the game and went on a 13-1 run to close out with a final score of 41-25. Sophomore Jillyan Sheldon led her team with 10 points.

The Indians are now 11-6 on the season, and they will host Garden City on Feb. 18.
