Lady Indians fall to Salina Central Mustangs
On Jan. 28, the Lady Indians traveled to Salina to play against the Salina Central Mustangs. The Mustangs are ranked No. 1 in the state, and the Indians ended up falling to them, 68-43.
The Indians never held the lead within the game, but they went on a 7-0 scoring run to push the score to 16-14 early in the second quarter, before going into halftime with a score of 36-20.
The third quarter and fourth quarters were not full of many scoring runs for the Indians; they were unable to close the score any closer before the end of the game.
The final score would be 68-43, with the Mustangs scoring 14 three pointers.
For the Indians, sophomore Jillyan Sheldon scored a career high of 16 points.
The lady Indians are now 7-6 on the season with each of their losses coming from state-ranked teams.
Their next game will be at home on Feb. 1 against Scott City.
