Hays High places first in Bob Kuhn wrestling tournament
The Hays High Wrestling team hosted the Bob Kuhn tournament this past weekend, Jan. 21-22. Teams from across the state came to compete in an effort to win the tournament.
Hays placed first out of the 25 participating teams, which was the Indians’ first home tournament win in 10 years.
Hays had two athletes place first in the tournament: seniors Gavin Meyers and Gavin Nutting. Sophomore Elijah McCullough placed third, and sophomore Tacoma Augustine placed fourth.
The final team scores were Hays in first with 153.5 points, followed by Manhattan in second with 120.5 points and Kapaun Mt. Carmel in third with 116.5 points.
