Girls varsity, junior varsity tennis compete in three meets to start season

The Hays Invitational meet on Sept. 2 was cancelled due to weather conditions. The next scheduled meet will be at Great Bend on Sept. 7.

Girls varsity tennis played at Cimarron on Thursday, Aug 26.

Hays placed fourth overall. The results are as follows:

Playing No. 1 Singles, senior Jamie Haddaway placed fourth with 12 points.

Playing No. 2 Singles, junior Brittnee Leiker placed third with nine points.

Playing No. 1 Doubles, juniors Danica Scheve and Kayler Wellbrock placed fourth with four points.

Playing No. 2 Doubles, juniors Morgan Berry and Ava Neil placed first with 12 points.

The girls junior varsity tennis played at Scott City on Monday, Aug. 30 and Hoisington on Tuesday, Aug 31.

Hays placed first overall at Scott City. The results are as follows:

Playing No. 1 Singles, junior Katrina Delimont placed first with 10 points.

Playing No. 2 Singles, junior Katy Antrim placed second with six points.

Playing No. 1 Doubles, sophomore Apryl Eschliman and junior Emily White placed third with six points.

Playing No. 2 Doubles, sophomores Jaycee Antrim and Bailey Lowry placed third with four points.

Hays place first overall at Hoisington. The results are as follows:

Playing No. 1 Singles, sophomore Jennifer Odom placed second with six points.

Playing No. 2 Singles, sophomore Georgia Edmonds placed fourth.

Playing No. 1 Doubles, sophomores Kinlee May and Jaiden Pfannenstiel placed first with nine points.

Playing No. 2 Doubles, juniors Rylie Fairbank and Maysyn Tippy placed first with eight points.

The Hays Invitational meet on Sept. 2 was cancelled due to weather conditions. The next scheduled meet will be at Great Bend on Sept. 7.
