Lady Indians fall to Dodge City in final two games of three game series
On April 8, the lady Indians hosted the Dodge City Red Demons for the final two games against each other, and Hays High lost both games with scores of 7-0 and then 9-6.
The first game brought no hits for the Indian offense, with the only baserunners coming from two hits by pitches and one walk.
Those three baserunners were never able to advance farther than first base, and multiple errors would be present, which would ultimately be the downfall in the first game for the Indians.
The second game started off better for the Indians, with the Indian offense finding success in a pitcher they had not seen before, scoring four runs in the first inning and then an additional two runs in the third.
The third inning brought Ramie Lopp back in the circle for the Red Demons, which would shut down the Indian offense all together.
Freshman Aubree Thomas pitched both games for the Indians, and junior Brenna Schwien and sophomore Raegan Winter both had two hits. Sophomores Madyson Sennett and Morgen Berry both had one hit.
The Indians now move to 2-3 on the season, with all loses coming from Dodge City. The Indians will play a double-header against the Garden City Buffaloes at home on April 13.
