Lady Indians add a win to their record with win at Scott City
On Feb. 2, the lady Indians traveled to Scott City to take on the Beavers and won 38-33. This matchup is rare for both teams, and they usually only meet at the annual Orange and Black Tournament in Colby.
The lady Indians scored the first seven points of the game, and they would never trail after that.
The largest lead of the second quarter would be a lead of eight points, and they went into halftime leading 21-17.
They came back onto the court after halftime carrying momentum, but a long stretch of no points being scored would allow for the Beavers to tie the game with only 1:40 left.
The lady Indians were able to build their lead within the last 1:40 and ended up winning the game by five points, with the final score being 38-33.
They were led by sophomore Carly Lang, who scored 13 points, and junior Jersey Johnson, who had 11 points as well.
The lady Indians move to 5-9 on the year, and they will host Dodge City on Fri., Feb. 5.
