Girls basketball falls to Garden City Buffaloes at home

On Jan. 15, the lady Indians took on the Garden City Buffaloes at home and lost 56-42.

The first quarter went in favor of the Indians, where they led by five multiple times, and then a second quarter 11-0 run pushed the Indians ahead even more.

The Indians were also able to hold the Buffaloes to only two points throughout the entirety of the second quarter.

Garden City came out of the locker room at halftime with a new drive, as they took over the game and left the Indians behind for the rest of the game.

Junior Jersey Johnson led her team with 14 points, but it was not enough to keep the Indians within reach of the win.

The lady Indians moved to 2-6 on the season and 1-3 in the Western Athletic Conference, and their next games will be in the Orange and Black Tournament hosted by Colby on Jan. 22, 23 and 24.
