Freshman Arely Maldonado competes at cross country state
Freshman Arely Maldonado was the only Indian runner that competed at state this year.
Freshman cross country runner Arely Maldonado competed at the state meet in Augusta on Oct. 31.
Maldonado placed 66th with a time of 21:44 in the 5A girls 5000-meter race.
“Going to state felt like a big accomplishment,” Maldonado said. “It was nice to have the opportunity to go. But, I was also very sad that the entire team could not go.”
