Dodge City JV and Salina Girls Golf
Girls junior varsity golf took second at Dodge City’s Mariah Hills on Thursday, Sept. 3, which was their second meet of the season.
Freshman Evyn Cox and sophomore Meg Taggart both medaled in the Top 5. Cox shot a 46 with the nine holes to take first, and Taggart shot a 54 for fifth.
The team was made up of juniors Avry George, Marissa Hoffman and Summer Schneider, Taggart as the only sophomore and freshmen Ashlynn Banker and Cox. They shot a 213 total for second place, two points behind the Dodge City A team.
The next meet was in Salina on Sept. 8 with varsity and some JV in attendance.
JV played Par 3’s, while varsity finished their 18 holes.
Varsity had four members place in the Top 15. Junior Taleia McCrae took second with a score of 83, sophomore Katie Dinkel shot an 88 and claimed eighth, senior Sophia Garrison placed 10th with a 93 and freshman Abbie Norris shot a 99 for 15th.
The team took second with a total score of 363.
