Girls varsity tennis places second at home meet
Seniors Taylor Deines and McKena McBride played #1 doubles and tied for second.
The girls’ varsity tennis team competed at the Hays Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Hays won second overall. The results are as follows:
Playing #1 singles, senior Maggie Robben placed fifth with a score of 0-5. The scores on Robben’s games were 0-6, 1-6, 3-6, 2-6, and 1-6.
Playing #2 singles, sophomore Morgan Shorb placed first with a score of 4-0. The scores on Shorb’s games were 6-3, 6-4, 6-0, and 6-0.
Playing #1 doubles, seniors Taylor Deines and McKena McBride tied for second with a score of 2-2, along with Norton and Victoria. Deines and McBride scored 6-2, 6-4, 1-6, and 3-6 on their games.
Playing #2 doubles, juniors Caroline Robben and Sage Zweifel placed first with a score of 4-0. Robben and Zweifel scored 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, and 6-0 on their games.
