Indians defeat Garden City

On Jan. 17, the Indians traveled to Garden City to take on the Buffaloes and won 50-36.

During the first quarter, the teams were tied four times, with the score being 9-9 at the end of the first quarter.

Hays scored 10 points in the second quarter, while Garden City only scored 8, and the score was 19-17 at halftime.

During the third and fourth quarters, the Indians went on a 12-0 run and took the lead for the rest of the game.

Junior Dalyn Schwarz had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, junior TJ Nunnery had 11 points and junior Jason Krannawitter had a career high of 10 points.

The Indians are now 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the Western Athletic Conference, as they will travel to Colby to attend the 35th Orange and Black Classic Tournament on Jan. 23.
