The boys soccer team kicked off their season with a win against Wichita Independent on Aug. 30.

The boys soccer team started their season with three games over Labor Day weekend in Wichita.

The team picked up their first win, topping Wichita Independent 4-1.

“We did face a couple injuries early in our first game,” coach Silas Hibbs said. “That kind of set us back a little for the following two games.”

The second game was held on Aug. 31 against Wichita Classical, where the team lost 2-1 in double overtime.

After having Sunday off, the team finished off the weekend, falling 3-0 against Wichita South.

The team has a challenging schedule to kick off their season, playing five games in six days.

“It is not ideal for the players to have to play that many games in that sort of time frame,” Hibbs said. “But the boys are playing tough.”
