Indian baseball secures WAC Title
The Indian baseball sweeps Liberal to win WAC at home on April 26. They took down the Red Skins 1-0 in the first game and 13-3 in the second.
In the first game it went scoreless until the fourth inning when the Indians put one run on the board.
For the game the Indians produced five hits and committed two errors, while the Red Skins had three hits and no errors.
Senior Trey Riggs pitched for the Indians and he had eight strikeouts and one walk.
The second game had the Indians scoring three runs in the second then having the Red Skins put one on the board in the third before the Indians put 10 more in the same inning. The Red Skins would go on to add two more in the fourth but couldn’t add anymore.
The second game for the Indians had 12 hits and three errors, and the Red Skins had two hits and one error.
Senior Palmer Hutchison pitched the second game and he had four strikeouts and one walk.
The Indians are 13-1 on the season and will May 2-4 for the Western Diamond Classic at home.
