Lady Indian basketball takes 64-41 victory over Great Bend Panthers in away game on Jan. 8

With senior Savannah Schneider and junior Brooke Denning scoring 12 points each and senior Jaycee Dale following close behind with 11, the Lady Indian basketball team was able to secure a large 64-41 victory over its rival, the Great Bend Panthers on Jan. 8.

The Indians took an early lead over the Panthers going 18-6 in the first quarter. They then increased their lead making the score 38-14 at half time.

In the second half, the Panthers would try to make a comeback scoring 14-14 in the third quarter and 13-12 in the final quarter. However, their efforts would not be enough as the Indians would end with a 23-point lead.

Also adding to the scoring total were sophomore Brooklyn Schaffer with six points and seniors Kallie Leiker and Mattie Hutchinson and freshman Aleyia Ruder all with five points.

Rounding out the score was junior Tasiah Nunnery with four points. Sophomore Reanna Green and freshman Taleia McCrae both threw in two points.

With this win, the team improved its record to 4-3 and will next play the Garden City Buffaloes at home on Jan. 11.
