Boys basketball team starts season 1-0 against Great Bend, 74-56

The boys basketball team started their season off with a win over their WAC rivals 74 to 56 in the first round of the Hays City Shootout.

Senior Trey McCrae lead the Indians in scoring with 18 points followed by senior Braiden Meyers with 12 and sophomore T.J. Nunnery with 10.

The Indians put up 14 in points in the first quarter, giving them the lead going into the second quarter. Twenty-one points where then put up in the second quarter going into halftime.

Starting the second half strong the Indians wouldn’t look back putting up 20 points in the third and 19 in the fourth.

The Indians move to 1-0 on the season and will face off against Manhattan at 7 p.m. at Hays High School in the second round of the Hays City Shootout.
