Chess team takes home another win
At their second tournament on Nov. 3 the HHS Chess team came out near the top.
Coming home with a third place trophy the team also had 3 students place individually. With sophomore Japheth Briney in third, senior Benton McGrath in 13th, and sophomore Jon Garner in 20th.
“The students performed very well for this being our 2nd tournament overall,” Coach Erin Holder said. “There were some obvious errors that could have been avoided, but that happens with every game you play. I believe most of those were nerves mixed with stress and lack of sleep.”
Overall the team had an eventful day and came home with yet another trophy. Their next tournament will be on Dec 15 in Lindsborg KS.
