Indians show off their hard work with their medals.

The cross country team competed on Sep. 20th in McPherson. Girls varsity took first as a team, making it the “first time in a long time” to win a meet. The Lady Indians had five out of the seven runners place in the top 15, finishing the race right after another. Landri Dotts lead the girls with a 3rd place finish. Following her was Yesenia Maldonado, 6th; Allison Shubert, 9th, Lainey Hardman, 10th and Cristina Leos, 12th.

“We were very pleased with how all of our ladies competed,” Head Coach Jerold Harris said.

Boys Varsity also battled to the finished taking third as team, just seven points behind second place, Salina Central (68 points). Those who medaled were Johnny Fuller, 10th and Brayden Hines, 13th.

Others who medaled in the JV races were freshman Kambir Bogart, 2nd and senior Corey Hale, 6th. Despite the heat and wind the cross country team put that aside and competed like true runners.
