Stellar defense leads to a sweep for Indian softball on May 1

The Indian softball team took a brought home a couple of wins from Liberal by winning 9-1 the first game and 13-1 the second game.

For the first game the Indians scored two in the second, three in the third, one in the fourth and three in the seventh. The Redskins only scored one in the third

The Indians had a total of 15 hits and they had no errors while the Redskins had three hits and two errors.

Junior Kaitlyn Brown pitched for the first game and had one error, one walk and 16 strikeouts.

In the second the Indians scored three in the first, two in the second, five in the third, and three in the fifth. While the Redskins scored only in the first.

The Indians ended the game with 17 hits and one error compared to the Redskins three hits and three erorrs.

Jaysa Wichers a junior was on the mound for the second game and she no errors, two walks and six strikeouts.

The Indians are 9-9 and their next action will be May 10 at home vs Andover Central.
