Lady Indians soccer shuts out rivals in a 2-0 victory
Girls soccer team shutout crosstown rival TMP for a 2-0 victory on a windy day at the Hays High soccer field. The Lady Indians were held scoreless even though they were going with the wind and had multiple shots on goal.
The game remained scoreless as time ticked down. With 12 minutes left in the game, junior Cori Isbell received a pass from junior Savannah Schneider and chipped the Monarch’s goalkeeper to break the draw and go up 1-0 late in the second half. Schneider netted one of her own to give the Lady Indians a comfortable 2-0 lead with eight minutes left in the game.
The Lady Indians move to 8-3-1 on the season and will face off against the Garden City Buffaloes in their second matchup of the year at 4 p.m. on April 3 at Garden City High School.
