Indian softball drops two games at Dodge City April 5
The Hays High School Indian softball team travel to Dodge City for a doubleheader where they dropped both games.
In the first game, the Indians scored three in the first inning and one in the fifth while Dodge scored two in the first, one in the third and fourth, five in the fifth, and three in the sixth, ending the game 12-4.
Throughout the game, the Indians had seven hits and four errors and Dodge made two errors and eight hits.
Pitching for five innings junior Kaitlyn Brown allowed nine runs and had seven errors, five strikeouts, and three walks. Coming in for the final inning junior Jaysa Wichers had one hit, three runs and three walks.
In the second game, the Indians scored two in the first, one in third and two in the fifth. Dodge scored three in the first and seventh.
The Indians had nine hits and no errors, while Dodge had six hits and one error.
Wichers pitched in the second and had six errors, two walks, and four strikeouts.
The Indians are 3-6 on their season and their next action will be at home vs Colby on Apr.17.
