Boys swim team competes at state
The boy’s state swimming team competed at state in Topeka. Brett Bowles, Blade Goering, Scout Perryman and Isaac Smith qualified their 200-freestyle relay. Isaac Smith also qualified individually in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
Sophomore Isaac Smith set a new school record in the 50 freestyle. With a time of 22.43, Smith moved into finals and placed 9th overall at state. This beat Les Hauck’s time of 22.79 set in 1994.
Smith also moved into finals for the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.18. He placed 12th overall.
The 200-freestyle relay smashed their personal best time of 1:43.78, swimming a 1:39.56. They did not move into finals.
