Lady Indian basketball continues winning streak

Junior Mattie Hutchison looks for an open player to throw the ball in bound to in a recent game against the Colby Eagles. The Lady Indians beat the Eagles 44-19.

The Lady Indian basketball team are continuing to prove their winning record of 5-1 after the team’s victory against the Colby Eagles on Dec. 15.

After the first quarter, the Indians were down 11-10 against the Eagles, but this wasn’t going to change the Indians attitude.

The Indians would put up 20 points in the second quarter, outscoring the Eagles who only scored two points in the second quarter. This put the Indians up 30-13.

The Indians would keep the lead throughout the game, and go on to beat the Eagles 44-19.

Leading the team to the win in scoring was junior Savannah Schneider with 13 points, followed by sophomores Isabel Robben and Brooke Denning both with eight points, junior Mattie Hutchison with seven points, sophomore Tasiah Nunnery with four points, and juniors Kallie Leiker and Jaycee Dale both with two points.

Leading offensive rebounds was Hutchison with four. Leading defensive rebounds was Robben with six. Leading assists was Denning with three.
