After a week full of school games, assemblies, dress up days, and loads of school spirit, the Indians looked to cap homecoming week off with a win, but didn’t quite get there. The Indians lost to the McPherson Bullpups at home, 48-6.
The Indians went into the locker room at half time hanging their heads walking past the scoreboard that showed a 22-0 lead for the Bullpups. This negativity would not last long after the halftime locker room talk.
The Indians came out in the third quarter as a new team. The Indians let the Bullpups advance to a 48-0 lead, but would then score off freshman Lane Becker’s 25-yard touchdown run. The Indians would lose to the Bullpups 48-6.
Hays will travel to Abilene on Oct. 27 to take on the Abilene Cowboys in the second game of district play.
