Indian football defeats Liberal Redskins

The Indian football team played the Liberal Redskins in Liberal on Sept. 15 pulling off their second win of the season.
According to Hays Post, the Indians defense came out strong in the first half of the game on Friday night, forcing the Redskins to punt on four of their total five possessions. The other possession was stopped on a fumble recovery by junior Logan Schulte.
Junior Keaton Markley scored the Indians first touchdown of the game, a 26 yard touchdown followed by the extra point by senior Logan Clark. Markley’s touchdown and Clark’s successful extra point put the Indians up 7-0, which would remain the score for the first half.
In the second half, senior Hunter Brown scored the Indian’s second touchdown of the game putting them up now 13-0. Brown would score the Indians third and final touchdown to win the game 20-0.
The Indians are now 2-1 and 2-0 in WAC and will host Garden City on Sept. 22 at Lewis Field.
