Indian Softball falls to Maize Eagles and Goddard Lions on April 12

The Hays High Indian softball team fell to the Goddard Lions and the Maize Eagles in Goddard on April 12. The Indians fell to the Lions 16-1 and the Eagles 15-0.

In the first game, the Lions scored six runs in the first inning, one in the second, and nine in the third. The Indians scored one in the first and were scoreless the rest of the game, making the score 16-1.

Throughout the game, the Lions has six hits and no errors, while the Indians had two hits and nine errors.

Pitching for the Indians was sophomore Jaysa Wichers for 0.2 innings with six runs, one hit and zero errors. Freshman Macee Altman pitched 1.2 innings with ten runs, five hits and zero errors.

Scoring the only run for the Indians was sophomore MacKenzie Fagan.

In the second game, the Eagles score seven runs in the first inning, four runs in the second, two in the third, and two in the fourth. The Indians were scoreless throughout the game making the score 15-0.

Throughout the game, the Eagles had fifteen hits and no errors while the Indians had four hits and four errors.

Pitching for the Indians were freshman Macee Altman, for one inning with seven runs, nine hits, and seven errors, and sophomore Jaysa Wichers, for two innings with eight runs, six hits, and one error.

The Indians are now 2-4 on the season and will play next at home on April 13 against the Great Bend Panthers.
