The Lady Indians found themselves in victory after hosting the Garden City Buffaloes on Jan. 15. The game started out slow for the Indians as they trailed behind the Buffaloes 9-1, but took a 13-11 lead early on in the second quarter.
The Indians then took a 19-13 lead in the third quarter, not trailing for the remainder of the game. Garden City came close to outscoring Hays 11-8 in the fourth quarter but Hays took the 46-37 win.
Hays will travel to Dodge City on Jan. 19.
