Boys basketball finishes Hays City Shootout with 2-1 mark
The boys basketball team played Olathe North Eagles on Dec. 4 in the second game of the Hays City Shootout. The Indians were defeated 58-42.
At halftime, the Eagles had taken the lead, 18-10. The Indians played hard in the second half, adding 24 points to their score.
Drew Young had the most points, totaling 12 throughout the game. Shane Berens was second in scoring, putting up nine points.
Rounding out the scoring was Isaiah Nunnery with eight points, Laken Jacobs with four points, and Keith Dryden with three.
For their final game of the Hays City Shootout, the boys basketball team played Garden City on Dec. 5. The Indians defeated the Garden City Buffaloes 55-38.
The Indians got ahead in the first quarter, with a 12-11 lead. By the start of the fourth quarter, they had made 23 more points, making the score 35-26.
Leading the team with 21 points was Isaiah Nunnery. Drew Young had the second most points with 10. Completing the scoring was Shane Berens with eight, Laken Jacobs with five, Keith Dryden with four, Maddux Winter with three, Xander Swayne with two, and Ethan Nunnery and Marcus Altman with one point each.
The Indians will play their next game in Pratt on Dec. 9.
