The boys basketball team defeated Colby, 40-77, on Dec. 3 in their first game of the Hays City Shootout.
Ending the first quarter with a 27-7 lead, the Indians kept up their momentum and entered the final quarter ahead with a score of 66-27. During the last quarter Colby scored 13 points and the Indians scored 11.
Keith Dryden and Isaiah Nunnery each had 14 points on the board, making them the leading scorers for the game. Also in double digits was Maddux Winter with 10 points. Tyrese Hill and Shane Berens each had six points. With four points each were Xander Swayne, Ethan Nunnery, Drew Young, Dylan Davis, Laken Jacobs and Marcus Altman. Rounding out the scoring was Collyn Kreutzer with three points.
