Girls cross country at state
The girls cross country team finished 11th out of 12 teams with 239 points. State was held at Wamego.
“It was exciting to take both the boys and the girls’ teams to state for the first time ever,” Head Coach Jerold Harris said, “We’ve come close so many times, so it felt awesome to finally achieve it.”
Sophomore Marie Reveles led the Indians in 35th place, with a time of 16:35. Junior Haley George took 50th with a time of 17:08. Sophomore Alyssa Bryant and senior Summer Smith took 62nd and 84th with times of 17:20 and 18:11 respectively. They were followed by freshman Madiosn Schmidt in 87th, junior Courtney Green in 91st and freshman Tana Herrman in 94th with times of 18:25, 18:34 and 18:58.
“Our girls had a few injuries late in the year that hindered us,” Harris said. “But I’m still very proud of their efforts.”
