The girl’s varsity tennis team went to the WAC tournament in Great Bend on Oct. 6 Other teams there were Liberal, Garden City, Dodge City and Great Bend.

The team took second place overall with a total of 10 points.

Playing number one singles was junior Brooke Forinash. Forinash took second place with a 3-1 mark.

Freshman Sarah Wyse played number two singles and took first place. She went 4-0, winning by a large margin.

The number one doubles team of senior Emily McPherson and junior Fabi Psychny took third place with a 2-2 mark. They won 8-0 against both Dodge City and Liberal but was unable to win against Garden City and Dodge City.

The number two doubles team consisted of junior Sylina and freshman Gabby Taliaferro. They took fourth place with a 1-3 mark. Although they went through a couple of close matches, they were unable to secure a win.
