Indians defeats Wichita South, 31-6
For the second consecutive week, weather proved to be a factor in a Hays High football game.
But unlike the previous week when the game was called at the halftime, the Hays High-Wichita South football game was completed even though the opening kickoff didn’t take place until after 9 p.m.
The outcome also proved to be better for the Indians as they bounced back from their loss to Garden City and posted a 31-6 win against South.
The Indians, now 4-1, scored 28 of its 31 points in the first half. The offense essentially stalled in the second half, however, as Hays kicked a field goal in the fourth quarter.
South’s lone touchdown also came in the fourth quarter, but the extra point attempt was blocked.
Hays will now travel to Dodge City (3-2) on Friday, which is coming off a 47-13 win over Great Bend.
