The boys soccer team got off to a rough start as it lost a 5-0 decision in its season opener at McPherson on Sept. 5.

Taking advantage of 13 shots on goal, McPherson jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead and then added another goal in second half to secure the 5-0 win. Hays, meanwhile, had five shots.

Next action for the soccer team will be the Maize South Invitational starting on Sept. 9 and continuing on Sept. 12 and 14.
