Boys Cross Country takes 4th at Great Bend
Led by the 14th-place medalist finish of freshman Zachary Hopp, the boys cross country team finished fourth out of a nine-team field at Great Bend on Sept. 5.
Hopp ended up with a time of 18:55 to earn a medal. Senior Hunter Bizzell finished 18th with a time of 19:07, while senior Landon Munsch took 19th with a time of 19:13. Other varsity competitors were senior Austin Chamber, 24th, 19:21; freshman Ethan Shippy, 33, 19:47; and senior Kendall Kandt, 35th, 19:49.
As a team, the Indians finished with 108 points. Liberal literally ran away from the field, finishing first with a team total of 46. Ellinwood was second with 74, followed by Great Bend with 78. Other teams included Salina South, 110; Hutchinson, 111; Garden City, 205; Holcomb, 205; and Central Christian, 253.
Next action for the team will be Sept. 12 at Hesston.
